The excellent people over at Little Wars TV posted up a great free campaign for Operation Winter Storm - the attempted German relief to allow Army Group A extricate itself from potentially being cut off and surrounded by the Soviet counter-attack.
You can download all of the materials needed for this campaign from the Little Wars TV website here:
I also recommend watching the YouTube video of the first scenarios of the Little Wars TV club playing through the campaign here:
Lastly, these guys do some great work and share a lot with the broader wargaming community as a whole so I highly recommend supporting them if you can.
Dan Kerrick from my group spent the last week or so getting the units based up and table ready for a game we played today over at Dan's place. He did a great job getting it all together in short time. This is also a testament to what the guys over a Little Wars TV were trying to do with this -- allow those looking to get into miniature wargaming an easy entry point. 1 week of cutting out some stuff and sticking it to bases ... some minor cutting out of felt ... and you have a game!
I took some pictures using my phone of the game we played today. The units are just the art printed out on label paper, stuck to 2mm MDF bases, and then a sticky clear protective film was applied to protect the printed labels. Everything just sticks together.
I played on the Russian side along with John Lantz. Dan and Adrian took the German forces. The Russian's pushed hard and I have never rolled so well. My T-34s crushed the German units I encountered and by turn 9 we called the game. Only a handful of German units remained in the town center and they would be easily surrounded and destroyed in turn 9. This was a fun little afternoon and the table looked great.
If you are looking for a little side project and a fun campaign to play through, I highly recommended given this a look as it will cost you almost nothing to get it on the table top.
Thank you to the boys over at Little Wars TV for sharing this!

Oooh, that presses some buttons :-)
