Russian Napoleonic Army Progress #2

Making some more progress on the massive amount of Russian Napoleonic basing I have to finish.  Getting a little bit done each day in between my Samurai painting and other distrations.

Below are Russians Grenadiers/Guard infantry.

Here are some Cuirassiers and Hussars.

Trying to keep up a steady pace ... still a lot to finish before Austerlitz is on the table but there is light at the end of the tunnel.  I know these uniforms are later than Austerlitz, but this will due.  My primary goal with all these units is a massive Borodino game.

  1. Jay, these models are nothing but superb! The painting is exceptional, no, stunning is a much better word. Your basing is excellent. The grass tufts make such a difference, don't they? You need to open a toy soldier museum, sir, so the worshipful public can view your collection at their leisure. I'm a retired guy, I'd be glad to work there:-)

    1. Heya Steve! The never ending march of tufts! :-) I do love them ... far better than just using static grass. lol ... perhaps when I win the lottery I can buy a large enough building to display it all ... lol!

  2. I agree with Steve, just stunning, and whoever painted them (wink, wink, nod, nod) is a master painter that deserves to be curator of said museum 😁

    Cheers

  3. Kevin, you insinuate the kindest things, but alas, it's not me. I do appreciate the co-sign on the museum, though:-)

    1. Sadly, no Steve Dake in this round of troops ;-) But soon, soon there will be some more spectacular Steve-ness displayed on the blog :-)

    2. Drat! I am getting old, I swore it was a Steve Picasso:) But then it has been since 2017 that you painted my Modern soldiers. Man time fly’s and add Covid and I am missing two years of my life, at least that how it seems. Cheers gents

    3. I stand corrected ... just realized the Cuirassiers are a Steve Dake masterclass display :-) Everything is blending together at this point ...

  4. Such is the brave man who paints Napoleonics and shows them off for the grognards to slide in and button count 😀
So the real question is how many more figures are you planning on doing for this massive Borodino game?

    1. The Russians have around 46 units if I recall. Getting there. Mostly cav remains from the pile. :-)

  5. Lovely work on these. The kind of thing that makes it hard not to jump to 28s ;)
