Inspired by my long lost brother Ivor Evans I've decided to breath a little new life into the blog with a new look and logo.
I was messing around and came up with the following new logo.
I'm not 100% sold on it but figured I would give it a spin for a little bit. It looks a little Wargames Illustrated'ish ... but hey ... I like the WI logo so cool. I can easily restore the old look.
In other news, I've finished all my Hessian units for AWI ... now just working on the last big batch of basing for my Continental units that are done.
So, the new look/logo ... crap? Good? Don't give a hoot? Let me know.
Ha! You change it and the first post is a spam.
ReplyDeleteI don't mind the logo, but this is super hard on my eyes the white on a black background. So I am like eh? Your blog, but as a follower that's how I feel.
Cheers
Kevin
Agree, I'm gonna try out themes tomorrow that are easier on the eyes. Thx for the feedback Kevin!
DeleteHowdy Jay, much better, but I still think the background color needs a softer tweak. Like a very soft yellow as in parchment paper or something. The banner spread out looks good. Black and straight up white backgrounds are hard on this old timers eyes. I mostly look at content in evening with a lamp next to my iPad, just so you know how I am viewing it.
DeleteI have to confess my love of old site look, but change can be good.... I think;)
Thanks Kevin. I'm still mulling over the options ... while trying to stay on hobby projects ;-)
DeleteOk, just for you - trying out a parchment background.
DeleteWow, much better. The banner looks good against color as well. Way easier on the eyes to read. Of course I’ll keep up my vigil of coming to my favorite blog site no matter what you decide, but I am liking this.

Excellent, thanks Kevin :-) Gotta keep the readers happy!
DeletePut me down in the column of liking that one you texted me 😀
ReplyDeleteLol, thanks Ivor!
DeleteThe font is difficult to read. Walter Turncoat?
ReplyDeleteYeah, going to change it.
DeleteOut with the new and in with the old, brother. The old logo is so visually appealing. This new one has a strong hint of 21st century authoritarianism, lol
ReplyDeleteLol, thanks Steve.
DeleteI liked it at first but as I studied it the W stood out to be very WW2 German. If I came here for he first time I would assume this was a blog for that era. It is very bold looking and I like it for that aspect. 😁
ReplyDeleteThanks, very interesting ... I may try a softer font for it.
DeleteMaybe it was the black background combination. That look totally went away now. I like it much better with this background color. Warm and welcoming. Very nice.
DeleteThe tan background made a big difference. Very warm and welcoming. I like it a lot.
DeleteI like it, as you say, very Wargames Illustrated
ReplyDeleteLol, indeed ... thanks!
DeleteNice and bold Jay..... A real statement!!! in marketing speak... :-)
ReplyDeleteCheers
Stu
Thanks Stu ... I suck at marketing :-)
