I've just returned from KublaCon (Prime) 2026. I played a ton of games and it was a grand time with lots of the crew (local and international) showing up for laughs, good times, and miniature fun!
I ran my Space Hulk game three times. Each game included 5 players -1 Genestealer, 2 loyalist Space Marine squads, and 2 traitor Space Marine squads. The Space Marines (both sides) had to retrieve relics from the hulk and escape. The loyalists and traitors are opposed - so can (and did) shoot at each other! Lots of fun all around. I'm really happy where this all landed.
Adam Clark ran his Ork War Rig game (Ork Gaslands rules) which was an absolute blast. Adam did all this in 20mm scale. We played it twice through the weekend and I really had a lot of fun. I have all these same models in 32mm scale so I'll be looking to do the same at PacifiCon. I just need to make a few modifications to my war rig. Adam's dashboards with the shifter are just super!
This pits all the players (Ork buggies) against a GM controlled war rig. The war rig moves down the highway each turn and is trying to escape out the end of the road. All the buggies are trying to destroy the rig ... and each other! You get victory points for destroying sections of the war rig and for blowing up your "cooperative" Ork buggies - but you only get the Ork buggies victory points if the war rig doesn't escape.
Our group hosted and ran many games - 17 in all throughout the weekend.
Thomas Foss ran his Kessel Run game for us.
I ran a SpeekFreeks game.
Dan Kerrick ran a 3:10 To Yuma scenario using What A Cowboy (lots of fun - I rescued my brother from the law!).
John Lantz ran a WW2 Russian front game using Bolt Action.
Adam Clark hosted a game of Mighty Empires. My Orcs did not so great - struggle bus all the way! I had a Waaagh break out in my empire, traitors surrendered one of my cities to my enemy, oh boy, the fun!
Oliver hosted his Attack of the Ents game which was visually stunning.
I was very focused on gaming so didn't take very many pictures unfortunately. Now on the PacifiCon and more games and projects!
