Wargames Illustrated #342 Modern Article

My April issue (#342) of Wargames Illustrated arrived in my mailbox today.  In this months edition of the magazine is a 28mm modern article I wrote for them on wargaming Operation Iraqi Freedom.  What's even better - this time they spelled my name correctly -- so that makes it 1 point for Jay Smith and 1 point for Jay White -- I'm giving that other guy a run for his money!

Anyways, if you subscribe please check it out - or if you see an issue at your local game store, why not pick it up and see how poorly I write articles?

Wargames Illustrated #342 (April, 2016)

My article on wargaming Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Anywho, off to do real work now ...

  1. Congratulations for your own articles published in a miniature wargaming magazine. I'm sure that this will be full of eyecandy.

  4. Congratulations Jay! I'm going to send you a stack of copies to autograph so I can put them on Ebay, to help pay for my rules and figures for 'The Chicago Way' :)

  5. Fantastic, Jay! Good on you! Getting your name right is just icing on the cake. Again, I'll be interested in what kind of responses or even correspondence you get from the article. Cheers!

  7. Well done Jay, always rewarding to get your article and name in a magazine. (and well deserved)

  8. Jay, just scored the issue and had to tell you it's great, you modest dog! It read very well and your photos were most impressive. A very professional first attempt in the pages of what is arguably the current premier wargaming magazine. I wastwice impressed, as I didn't know Canadians knew how to write....

  9. Fantastic article, it is such a shame that the Crescent Root Studio stuff is not available here in the UK as I would dearly love to build a similar table and add to what I have already. A quick question; where do you get your rubber roads from? I have seen some manufacturers but I am never sure if they are the right sort and will fit in with a 'modern' Iraqi table.

    1. Thank you. Yes, shipping is really tough ... but a big order may be worth it. Rubber roads are my own molds ... but there is a decent company in the UK making them ... name escapes me at the moment ... if you email me at sotek486@yahoo.com I can find it and send it along.
