I ran the first version of this game at DundraCon 2019 (pictures of that here). I'll be running this version (expanded) of the game at KublaCon 2019.
Scenario Map & Special Rules
The map above show the starting positions for each side. The game is played on a 6 foot by 8 foot table. Roll for priority normally for the first turn.
Game End: Game ends at the end of a turn when one (or both) sides have lost models equal to or greater than their break point.
If both sides are broken at the end of a turn, the side that is further past its break point (in number of models) is the loser (e.g. if Rohan breaks at 50 models and has lost 56 models, they are 6 models past their break point --- if Harad breaks at 60 models and has lost 62 models, they are only 2 models past their break point, and the winner).
If both sides are equally past their break point, the battle is a draw.

ReplyDeleteLittle bit more painting to do :-)
DeleteSo I was intrigued by your earlier posting about this battle, and have ALWAYS been a super fan of Rohan, and happened to be in my local brick and mortar the other day and saw they had a few boxes on the shelf. Of course not Rohan, unless I wanted to buy the starter box, but I saw a box of Mumak and was like cool until I saw the price and almost swore out loud in the shop!
ReplyDeleteWhat I am trying to say is the number of those bad boys you’ve managed to put on the table awes me even more with your dedication to this hobby!
As always thanks for sharing, cheers
Kevin
Lol, yeah, GW pricing hasn't got any better over the years. You can find some deals on Ebay and via the trade group on FB. Madness it is ;-) As always, thanks Kevin for the kund words!
DeleteWooo! lates a lot of Mumak !
ReplyDeleteOh yeah, gotta have them :-)
DeleteThis look excellent - very cinematic!
ReplyDeleteThanks! :-)
DeleteI dream awake
ReplyDeleteLol, thank you :-)
DeleteLooking forward to more of this battle report. Looks like it is going to be a lotcof fun.
ReplyDeleteThanks Sam, certainly more to come :-)
DeleteWe all know how incredibly epic this game is but the real question is how did people react to you going against the traditional "rules" of basing of the figures and going to the clear bases? Raised eyebrows? Stink eye? Or perhaps one of my favorites 'you've ruined your models'? This question goes for anywhere else you may have shared your photos and reports 🙂
ReplyDeleteGood lord, what the heck kinda people have you come across? ;-) All the comments I've seen so far, both on FB and in person have been overwhelmingly positive. Who's been diss'in the clear bases?
DeleteI guess just the normal internet forum and Facebook nonsense, the reactions online to them is generally negative right now, but my latest blog post is about them and the reasons I use them exclusively on skirmish games. I think that you'll be seeing a whole lot more of them in the future 🙂
DeleteThat's unfortunate. Across the LOTR and SW Legion groups the comments have all been positive ... lots of surprise that they look so good. Course, it helps to have a nice tabletop to zhow through the base ;-)
DeleteI also ordered some War of the Ring movement trays from Litko in clear ... going to see what that looks like ...
Now that looks fantastic Jay. I think the cleat bases look sensational and was curious to hear when you got them from please?
ReplyDeleteThamks! I got them from Litko ... http://www.litkoaero.com ... you can get them in 3mm or 1.5mm thickness.
DeleteEPIC as always Jay and to finish it all off your grassland mat is very well done and has to be one of the most realistic ones that I have seen.
ReplyDeleteCheers,
Pat.
Thanks Pat, love the fur mats .. they bring games to the next level.
DeleteVery good pictures!
ReplyDeleteWe love these big beast!
:-)
Thanks!
