Caesar's Gallic Wars Armies

I've made a lot more progress on my Caesar's Gallic Wars project.  All the troops I need for my first battle (The Battle of the Arar) are ready to go.  I have several units still to base for the Gaul's, and some additional units for the Romans, but I'm nearing completion.

Collected pictures below.  9 units of Roman legionnaires.  I didn't include pictures of all the Gallic units as they all sort of look the same.

I'm looking to play test a new set of rules I've been working on for this period specifically.  Will either be using those rules or Hail Caesar depending on how the play testing goes.

  2. They look fantastic, plenty of units. A quick question, what material do you use for your basing besides the grass tufts.

    1. Thanks! Super easy basing. I get a specific sand off Ebay (link below). I used GW Riekland Fleshshade wash abd a exrra large black Sharpie for the base edges. My Tufts are from Tajima.
