Back To Bolt Action

After not playing for a bit, Roy and I managed to get back at it on the Bolt Action front this past week.  The other day we played the first three turns of a large game.  We'll be finishing up the game this coming week, but the objective of the encounter was to re familiarize ourselves with Bolt Action again.  The good news, it was like riding a bike.

I'm playing the Germans, who are defending.  I'm running three infantry sections of 10 men each (2 x SMG, 1 x LMG, 1 x Panzerfaust, 6 x rifles), an officer with one extra rifleman, a medic, medium mortar team, MMG team, PaK40 AT gun team, a Sdkfz 222 armoured car, a Puma armoured car, and a Panzer V "Panther" tank.  In total, just shy of 1,200 points.

Roy is playing Americans, who are attacking.  He has four infantry sections of US army, one infantry section of US airborne, 3 bazooka teams (2 army, 1 airborne), FOO, Officer, 2 x light mortar (1 army, 1 airborne), MMG team, 2 x Sherman Tanks, and 1 x M8 Greyhound armoured car (lots of upgrades throughout).  In total, around 2000 points.

I took lots of pictures (below) of the game so far.  I'm just now making a full effort to flush out my WW2 terrain, so I heavily leverage some existing terrain I have, but I'm working on the 4Ground buildings, and have plans for proper hedgerows, various entrenchments/gun positions, and more.  You can see the progress to date on my first block of buildings (need to finish the back yards).

Lots more Bolt Action to come this year ... both for the European theater and the Pacific (which is shaping up to be a summer project for me).

  5. Excellent looking terrain and models. We are just getting into BA in the last few months. I love the 4ground building.

On a side note I think you might have the top on your SdkF222 reversed.
