Napoleonic Russian Army: Major Progress

I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel for my Russian Napoleonic army.  It has been a long road go get here.  About 50 units in total the army is only a little smaller than my French army.

At this time, the only units left to do are 1 Cuirassier, 3 Cossack and 1 Jager unit.  I also have a field forge to do in the extras department.

I took pictures of the finished extras, cavalry, and some dead horses.  Will do a separate post for the infantry and artillery.  These are just quick pictures I took with my Samsung phone using some plasticard sheets.

First up are the extras ...

And now the Russian cavalry that spans Cossacks, Uhlans, Mounted Jagers, Dragoons, Cuirassiers, and Hussars.  For the Hussars, from top to bottom in order of appearence: Mariupol, Pavlograd, Irkutsk, and Elisavetgrad Hussars.

First wave of Cossacks - from top to bottom: Don Cossacks in winter dress, Ataman Cossacks, Don Cossacks.

Phew!  That's it for now.  I'm just finishing up the basing for some Grenadier units, then I'll take the pictures for the Infantry and Artillery and post those up.

  6. Hi Jay, wonderful work. Just one recommendation, try adding rope to your connect the horses to the wagons. I highly recommend Ropes of scale, great line of miniature ropes a quick dab of PVA glue and done. Makes the world of difference. Shame to see people put so so much time and effort into research, painting, basing etc. and forget basic points.
    Regards.
